The northernmost portion of Cape May County, just south of
neighboring Atlantic County, is Upper Township NJ, a large municipality
that encompasses many smaller subsections.
As the first
township many visitors encounter as they enter Cape May County via the
Garden State Parkway, Upper Township is representative of the many
diverse attractions that await visitors throughout the county.
Sprawling with thousands of acres of unspoiled, wild lands, Upper
Township is a logical choice for camping and other outdoor activities.
Within the town's boundaries are portions of the Lester G. MacNamara
Fish and Wildlife Management Area, the Belleplain State Forest, and the
Marmora Coastal Wetlands Fish and Wildlife Management Area.

close to the nightlife of nearby resorts. Campgrounds abound in this area,
as do a multitude of open spaces for hiking, bicycling, fishing and crabbing and
observing wildlife. Modern accommodations can be found in area motels

First settled
by whalers and fishermen in the late 1600s, the 65 square miles known as Upper
Township NJ contain numerous antique stores, and an abundance of charming, historic

plenty of space for enjoyment of the outdoors while still convenient to the
boardwalks and beaches on the Jersey Cape.
